Right now I'm leaning towards trying lead because with Star out of business, it is almost half the price of the best deals for jacketed or plated. I like lead in my .357 and I figure it's worth trying in my .45 too.
Ordering from Northeastern Bullet Company I can get 1,000 lead 230gr bullets delivered for $46.00. I'll happily spend the extra time cleaning my barrel for the $33.00 (minimum) I'm saving per thousand.
Now, with $46/K as the baseline price, who would like to commit to some lead? I might be able to get cheaper prices with greater quantities. If not, no big deal - I'm still saving some major money. |
