Anyone surprised?
Bono simultaneously advocated increasing Irish spending on foreign aid from .5% of the GDP to .7% and moved his music publishing company to the Netherlands to take advantage of the lower royalty taxes there. He wants the Irish to spend their tax money on foreign aid ... he just doesn't want to pay his part.
Granted, some of the taxes in question are extremely burdensome, but if you're going to advocate increased tax spending you'd damn well better be willing to pay up yourself.
Bono, you've made a fantastic business decision, now put your mouth where your money is. |
