[Ben]:Sharp knives Discuss This [2 comments so far] View Comments
For years I've been told (and retold myself) the adage that "you'll cut yourself faster with a dull knife." The logic is that a dull knife requires more force to push through whatever you're cutting, and thus you're more inclined to slip and jam the knife into something you don't want to cut.

On the other hand, after getting and using a Spyderco Sharpmaker on a mess of kitchen knives I am questioning the truthiness of that maxim.

After sharpening some of our kitchen knives, both Cara and her mom cut themselves accidentally using the now razor sharp blades. Over the weekend I was over at my sister's house and honed her set of Henkel knives to a pretty good edge and today I received an email from her with a picture of her band-aided hand.
